Normally there are two big types of aquaculture, land-based aquaculture and sea-based aquaculture. Salmon is one of biggest production and consumption fishes from aquaculture in the world and the value is considerably good. And in turn, Salmon aquaculture is most mature, high-tech invested and biggest scaled fish farming. There are two standard types of Salmon aquaculture, sea-based aquaculture and land-based RAS (Recirculated Aquaculture System) aquaculture.
Similar to human-centric lighting, aquaculture lighting is fish-centric lighting. According to scientific studies, fishes grow more weight and better in health conditions with appropriate lighting.
For example, Salmon absorb blue light and green light from eyes and pineal to produce more melatonin which helps the Salmon grow faster, bigger and healthier than those without sufficient and appropriate light.
For traditional marine-based aquaculture, the cage could be 30 - 40 meters underwater. But for the latest marine-based aquaculture, the cage can reach 80 meters underwater. The lighting ENNEC has made can reach 100 meters underwater and even deeper which will sustain for years in the applications.
For land-based aquaculture, the light could be less complex but just with blue/green/white light and IP66 rated. The standard land-based aquaculture lights is with luminaire types of street light, highbay...
